The Front-end Client (user screens) or Single User software platform:
- Pentium Class PC running Windows 9X, 2000, XP, or NT operating system.
- Prefer (but not required) running Microsoft Office97 with Access.
- Normally requires less than 10Mb of disk space and about 25MB of RAM when running.
The Back-end (multi-user server based databases) platform:
- The preferred server is Win2000 Advance server with Terminal Server for maintenance and updating remotely. The database can be located on any type of file server (Novell etc.) available.
- Client systems must have Read/Write access to the Database files.
- Can be located anywhere that can be accessed with a T1 or greater bandwidth. 100mb Ethernet LAN is preferred.
- Size will vary from a few megabytes to over a 100Mb depending on the number of cases in the system. IE: 10,000 cases = about a 40Mb database container.
- Larger Facilities may use a SQLserver database with an ODBC interface.
